Some activities undertaken by the AAFC include flying, fieldcraft, adventure training, firearms safety training, drill and ceremonial, service knowledge, aeromodelling, navigation and gliding.

Defence Force Welfare Association

The Defence Force Welfare Association (DFWA) exists simply to foster the best interests and welfare of all members of the Australian Defence Force and their families in any matter likely to affect them during or after their period of service.

We are also a member of the Alliance of Defence Service Organisations (ADSO), which comprises many of Australia's major military ex service organisations (ESO). The Alliance represents a significant number of members of Australia's Defence Family on national advocacy and representative matters to the Australian Parliament and all political parties. Its aim is to promote and protect the conditions and well-being of the Defence Family that embraces over three million people.

Legacy

Legacy is dedicated to caring for the families of deceased veterans. Today, Legacy’s caring and compassionate service assists over 100,000 widows and 1900 children and dependants with a disability. Legacy is a voluntary organisation supported by veterans, servicemen and women, and volunteers drawn from all walks of life. Our support and services now extend to include the dependants of members of today’s Australian Defence Force who lose their lives as a result of their military service.

National Malaya & Borneo Veterans Association Australia was originally a branch of the parent association in the United Kingdom (NMBVA) until 5th. January 1996 when Australia become its’ own incorporated association with the National Headquarters being registered in Queensland.

RAAF Museum Point Cook

 the RAAF Museum. Housed at Point Cook (near Melbourne), the birthplace of the Australian Flying Corps and the Royal Australian Air Force, the museum tells one of Australia's most important aviation stories, that of the second oldest air force in the world.

Check our location and opening hours before visiting. Admission is free but visitors over 16 will need photo ID to enter the RAAF Base.

Our Interactive Flying Displays are presented at 1pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

RAAF Veterans' Residences Trust

RAAF Veterans' Residences Trust was established by the Royal Australian Air Force Veterans' Residences Act 1953 for the purpose of providing residences for former members of the Air Force and their families who are in necessitous circumstances.

The capital of the Trust was created from a prize captured by Commonwealth Air Forces during World War II. The Air Force share of the prize money amounted to $458,000. Over the years, this money has been invested and applied to obtain 76 residences throughout Australia. They are located in: Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Hobart.

Rats of Tobruk Association Inc. Victoria

This Site is dedicated to the Rats of Tobruk of Allied Forces who Served in the longest Siege in British Military History, from April 10 to December 7, 1941, and who were the first Troops to defeat the German Army, on land, in WW2.
